Principal Slater’s Paw Prints (03/22/13)

Heshan Berents-Weeramuni

This week’s Paw Prints from Principal Jeff Slater:

  • A huge “Thank you!” to Maria Monteiro-Roby and Betty Alvarado for their efforts in organizing Math Night! Also, thank you to all of our amazing math teachers who participated to make the night a huge success for our Curley students and their families!
  • On Friday, Maria Amy-Moreno and Jen Felicetti will be taking a group of our ELL students to Northeastern University to participate in Science enrichment activities. Northeastern University continues to be a valued partner in supporting our students’ learning!
  • The MCAS long composition for students in grades 4 & 7 will take place on Monday, March 25. The ELA reading comprehension portion for students in grades 3-8 will take place Wednesday, March 27 & Thursday, March 28. Adequate rest, proper nutrition, and daily attendance directly impact student performance on the MCAS. We encourage you to discuss the importance of these tests with your child and assist him/her in maintaining an appropriate schedule during this testing period. If you have any questions or concerns about the MCAS tests, please contact me at 617-635-8239.
  • Our SSC and Health/Wellness Council meetings have been moved to Thursday of next week in observance of the Passover holiday.
  • Please note that all BPS schools are closed next Friday in observance of Good Friday.

Photos for our last Thursday Math Night are in CurleyK8 under layla_hijab_cable images section. I took some of my K0/K1/K2 group and then Maria took my camera and took photos of all the groups that participated. Great work by all.
