In case you have not come across it yet, we have a Curley Wish List that lists the items needed by 32 of our teachers.
There is also another innovative way to donate to teachers in need of supplies: Donors Choose. Ms. Taylor Knight and Ms. Drakes are the most recent Curley teachers to post a project on Donorschoose.org. Donors Choose is a website that allows classroom teachers to request resources to use with students in their classroom. How it works is teachers request materials from specific vendors listed on the Donor’s Choose site, they write a brief project proposal, and then a web page is generated to promote the project to family, friends, co-workers and also to the wider school community. It is basically an online classroom wish list. Once the project is fully funded, the resources are sent directly to the teacher care of the school. Teachers are required to send thank you notes and complete some forms to prove receipt of the products.
Ms. Taylor Knight has a project posted called “Making Learning Visible.” 6 people have already donated to her project. Ms. Taylor Knight has requested a flat screen LCD Television to display the videos that students star in and help tape and edit with equipment that Ms. Taylor Knight received as part of a fellowship. Ms. Drakes’ project “Put A Bird On It Art Lesson” is brand new and hasn’t had any donations yet. Ms. Drakes is asking for watercolors, watercolor paper, oil pastels and construction paper to use in all of her art classes.
In addition, Donors Choose is running a promotion through March 19th, where if you make a donation to either project, your donation will be matched. Enter “BLOOM” during check-out where it says “Match or gift code” and your donation is automatically doubled.

I just received full funding and the classroom will be receiving a new flat screen TV for use with dance videos, and classroom work.
