CURLEY SCHOOL PARENT COUNCIL MEETING
December 5, 2012
This past Wednesday over 30 parents attended the December SPC at a new morning time slot. The meeting consisted of a series of committee reports and some topics brought to the group. THINGS YOU CAN DO TO GET INVOLVED:
Jamaica Plain Holiday Shopping event – Shop at Boing!, KitchenWitch, On Centre, and Street Car Wine and Beer on Tuesday, December 11th to support the Curley School.
School Yard Renovation Committee – Please email Genevieve Day if you would like to be on a committee to examine the feasibility of converting the asphalt upper schoolyard into a playing field. All are welcome, but we are especially hoping for folks with experience in grant writing, fundraising/development, construction/landscape design, with any corporate or civic connections, or any other relevant experience.
Curley Museum of Science Night will be held January 18, 2013. Mark your calendar!
Our Guidance Counselor Sue Trotts is organizing a school walk-through with the head of BPS facilities to address building issues. It is tentatively scheduled for January 17th. Please watch for more details on this as at least 6 parents are needed to attend.
A support group for parents of children with IEPs, 504 Plans, or other special needs is being formed to share ideas and experiences. Please email Noreen Power to be informed about the next meeting and be added to the email group.
