Curley School Parent Council meeting next Wednesday

Curley K-8 SPC

So what’s this SPC thing we keep hearing about? We’re glad you asked. The Curley School Parent Council is a group of parent volunteers who work to make the school a better place through fundraising, supporting our faculty, and sponsoring various activities and events. As guardian or parent of a Curley kid, you’re automatically a member of the SPC, and we hope you’ll consider getting involved. Our first meeting is next Wednesday, October 2 at 6pm. Here are six good reasons to be there:

  • You’ll learn about all our different committees and working groups, including School Site Council, Communications, Arts Committee, Community Liaison, Fundraising, Technology, and more.
  • Our new principal, Katie Grassa, will be there to meet families and say hi.
  • You’ll hear the latest on our super-exciting Playing Field Capital Campaign
  • It’s a great chance to meet other Curley families and learn about easy ways to get involved in the school
  • Child care is available, so it’s sort of like date night.
  • Meeting ends at 8:00, so you’ll be home in time for Survivor

This month’s meeting happens in the Lower School cafeteria, please use the Pershing Road entrance for convenient access. It’s a pot-luck affair, so please share the deliciousness by bringing a dish. And remember that there is child care and Spanish language interpretation at every SPC meeting.

Family engagement is important to the success of our school, so we hope you’ll be able to join us next week. Have questions? Answers are just an email away. Contact Dave Demerjian or Genevieve Day, your SPC Co-Chairs.
