Apologies for any inconvenience caused, but tonight’s School Site Council meeting has been cancelled. The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 13th from 5:30pm – 7pm.

One important note Principal Katie Grassa would like to report on is around the budget.

As she has already noted, a K1 regular education classroom and a K2 regular education classroom have both been restored next year.

Hiring for both teacher positions together with the 1.5 para-professional positions we have gained back as a result will commence soon.

We were saddened, however, to learn that one of our nurses will be moved to part time next year, and our Family and Outreach Coordinator (FCOC) will also be lost. This is on top of the cuts we learned about in January. There are 20 FCOCs in BPS, but under the budget situation, they will be reduced to 7. Those 7 will be asked to serve all schools using the 7 networks or areas BPS uses to organize schools in Boston. Principal Grassa, teachers, and parents also been interviewing feverishly for several open positions. Details of hires will follow shortly.
