It’s June, and you know what that means:
The School Parent Council election (+ delicious pot luck!)
Please join us Wednesday, June 4 at 6pm for our year-end SPC meeting, happening this month at the Lower School cafeteria (enter via Pershing Road). It’s a chance to have a bite, celebrate the past year, and look toward 2014-2015.
It’s also election time, and we’re hoping to fill these soon-to-be open positions:
- SPC co-chairs
- SPC secretary
- Silent Auction event captain(s)
- Fall Fling event captain(s)
- Kindergarten Welcome Team
- School Site Council (a school-wide decision making body that includes teachers, staff, principal, and elected parents)
- There are many other committees and volunteer opportunities, but filling these key positions now means we’ll be off to a running start in September.
Volunteering is fun, connects you with other members of the Curley community, and makes a real, lasting difference at the school. Want to know more? There’s a packet of information on the Curley website. You can also email Dave (davedemerjian@mac.com) or Genevieve Day (genevieveday@mac.com) current SPC co-chairs for more information.
Remember, every SPC meeting features childcare and Spanish interpretation. So please bring a dish to share and plan on joining us. Looking forward to seeing you!
