Message From the School Nurses:
Dear parents/guardians,

As we wrap up another successful school year we here in the Nurse’s Office would like to send out a few reminders:

If your child has a medication in the nurse’s office please see attached document about proper pick up of the medication.

If your child has had a recent physical, please send a copy into school with your child so we may update his/her records. You may also fax this information to 617-635-8244. The information may also be emailed to apumphret@bostonpublicschools.org

Please keep in mind that if your child will require medication in school for the school year 2018/2019 we will need updated medication orders. Students requiring asthma medication in school must have an updated Asthma Action Plan. Students with Life Threatening Allergies must have an updated Allergy Action Plan. This is especially important for children with food allergies as we will need to communicate this information with BPS Nutrition. Medication used by children in school must be accompanied by a doctor’s order or plan and the medication must in it’s original packaging with proper labeling and unexpired. All students receiving medications in school should also have an up to date physical on file in school. Important forms and information for parents can be found on the website BPShealthservices.org and are posted on the Curley website by clicking here

Have a wonderful and safe summer

Summer Reading Initiative Returns to the Curley: Again this year, all students in Grades k-8 will be asked to take a pledge to read daily over the summer months and to maintain a log of this reading. Packets of information, including the summer reading pledge, reading bingo activity, and logs are now being finalized and will be distributed to classroom teachers the week of June 11th. Please contact Eileen Cronin, ecronin@bostonpublicschools.org, (Gr. 3-8) or Caitlyn Gable, cmcsheffrey@bostonpublicschools.org, (Gr. K-2) if you have specific questions regarding summer reading program.

2018 BPS Climate Survey – Due 6/15/2018: Parent, Teacher, and Student Climate Surveys were released online on March 12th. Chromebooks and document cameras will be awarded to schools with high parent participation rates and the greatest improvement in parent participation. We are asking teachers to have students complete these in class and for families to complete these as well. Any families who need access to technology can complete these at the school with us. We will use this data to plan for next school year and really value the feedback! https://www.bostonpublicschools.org/climatesurvey
