- City Year: We want to thank our City Year Corps for finding a creative way to energize our students for the PARCC exam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atRcyUT6qTk. All students watched this prior to taking the test. We encourage families to check it out as well. We do not want students to be nervous taking the PARCC exam, we want our students to do their best work and we will all be proud of them. Reminder that grades 3, 4 & 6 are testing this coming week.
- PARCC Information: The PARCC testing window is starting this week for grades 3-8 and we will be testing from April 25th through May 25th. Please check this attached schedule and see which days your child will be testing. It is very important that all students are present on testing days. Please check any appointments (doctors, dentist, etc…) to make sure that your child is present for testing. - 16th Annual Curley Plant Sale: Thank you to all the staff and families who supported us with the Plant Sale this past weekend! It was a great event and so many community members commented on how much they enjoy attending. Thanks!
- Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2nd-6th is National Teacher Appreciation Week and May 3rd is National Teacher Appreciation Day! We feel lucky to have so many amazing teachers on staff here at the Curley!
- Health and Wellness: Please join us for our May Health and Wellness meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd from 7:30am-8:15am in Room 208 (Upper School).
- School Parent Council (SPC): The May SPC meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 4th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. We will hold elections this evening for next year and all families are encouraged to attend.
- AWC for All: Our next meeting is Thursday, May 5th from 3pm-4pm in Room 111 (Upper School) all families are welcome!
- Playing Field: The field will be open for public use from 2:30-3:00pm and then will be used by Curley teams from 3pm – 5pm. We are offering many extra curricular activities during that time such as girls soccer, boys soccer, Girls on the Run, Track, CASP, and Tenacity. This is a wonderful space and we want to make sure that many students have access to this. Thanks!
- Wake Up The Earth: Please bring your family, friends, school, whatever; join us in the Parade that will kick off the 2016 Wake Up the Earth Festival, May 7. - LGBTQ Picnic: The Curley K-8 School will be hosting our first LGBTQ Picnic for families, faculty and allies. Please join us, bring your friends, spread the word, open to all BPS.
