Principal Grassa’s Paw Prints (05/08/16)

Heshan Berents-Weeramuni

This week’s Paw Prints from Principal Katie Grassa:

  • City Year: We want to thank our City Year Corps for finding a creative way to energize our students for the PARCC exam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atRcyUT6qTk. All students watched this prior to taking the test. We encourage families to check it out as well. We do not want students to be nervous taking the PARCC exam, we want our students to do their best work and we will all be proud of them. Reminder that grades 5 & 8 are testing this coming week.
  • PARCC Information: The PARCC testing window has started for grades 3-8 and we will be testing from April 25th through May 25th. Please check this attached schedule and see which days your child will be testing. It is very important that all students are present on testing days. Please check any appointments (doctors, dentist, etc…) to make sure that your child is present for testing. If you want to learn more about PARCC please visit this site: www.bostonpublicschools.org/PARCC.
  • Curley Water Fountains: Boston Public Schools (BPS), as a proactive and precautionary measure, tested all sites with active water fountains in April 2016. In response to the results we will be hosting two family information sessions for members of the BPS Community on Monday, May 9 at 6:30 pm, which is open to media, and Tuesday, May 10, at 8 am, which is closed to media, at the Bruce C. Bolling Building in the School Committee Chambers, 2nd floor. Please join us.
