THANK YOU! … What an incredible community we have! — Curley Families and friends have raised nearly $22,000 in December and have only $3,200 remaining to reach our goal before year end… This means we have *ONE DAY* LEFT to raise $3,200 in 2016. TOGETHER, WE CAN DO THIS!
Reading Is Fundamental. The Curley K8 School is dedicated to bringing back our library as soon as possible to ensure our 925+ students have equitable access to books and a computer lab within the Library at our school. Please help make it happen!
As you finalize your 2016, tax-deductible year-end giving, please consider a donation of *ANY* amount to help bring back the Curley School Library. The Friends of the Curley is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. If you are traveling or with Loved ones, maybe ask if they’d be interested? We greatly appreciate you sharing this with anyone you think may support this important effort.

Dear Families and Friends of the Curley K-8 School,
As we enter the holiday season, we are asking for your support to ensure that the 925+ students at the Curley are well-prepared for the 21st century. A modern, well-stocked and staffed library is a key part of this vision.
Five years ago, the school’s two libraries were closed due to budget cuts. In 2015, a passionate group of parents and teachers began dedicating themselves to revitalizing and reopening one library to serve the entire Curley K-8 community. We are deeply committed to making a modern library the heart and soul of our wonderfully diverse community and school, a place where students and teachers will be excited to explore and learn together. Studies show that staffed school libraries are critical to student academic success, and are linked to significantly higher literacy scores regardless of socioeconomic status.
Our vision for the Curley Library includes both traditional and digital media: an updated collection of books to support our students’ literacy development and personal reading interests, and the technology and online resources to allow students to research, collaborate, and present information in line with digital expectations of this generation of learners.

As 2016 comes to an end, we kindly ask that you consider a tax-deductible donation in support of the Curley K-8’s Library and Technology Campaign.
Our goal is to raise $70,000 in 3 Phases as follows:
Phase I: $25,000 for technology, including secure Chromebook carts, library computers, a scanner, and other library technology
Phase II: $25,000 for renovations, including room updates and furnishings
Phase III: $20,000 for books and cataloging *Ready to Open!*
-
Please help us reach our phase I Goal of $25,000 for Technology by Year-End — It’s a lofty Goal, but we think working together, we can make it happen!
Last December, with your generous help, we were able to fund four new laptop carts, dramatically increasing critical access to computers for 3rd-8th graders who will be taking placement tests on computers. We’re hoping to provide even more immediate access with this fundraiser.
- Gifts of ANY amount help
