In fact, you may recognize the Curley family members featured in this year’s Bike-A-Thon poster! All registered riders who meet their fundraising minimum enjoy free food, a t-shirt, ride support, and an after-party, all while making a real difference! To register to ride or to learn more, please follow this link: https://bikesnotbombs.org/bike-a-thon BNB’s mission is to promote environmental sustainability and social justice by using the bicycle as a vehicle for social change, and all fundraising goes directly to making Bikes Not Bombs’ local and international programs possible! One of those programs, Girls in Action, for girls only, is still accepting applications for their May 15th – June 15th after school program located nearby at 284 Amory Street in JP! Girls In Action (GIA) combines bicycle mechanics and riding and is a great way for girls aged 12-18 to learn new things, make friends, get active and earn a bike of their own! In addition to mechanics, GIA offers fitness, safety, and environmental activities, as well as weekly workshops or field trips! You might visit an urban farm, learn how to do henna tattoos, or do community service, all while meeting other cool girls and learning how to completely rebuild a bike. No experience in biking or mechanics is necessary to apply and every program graduate will ride away on her very own refurbished bicycle! For more information and to download an application, please check out https://bikesnotbombs.org/girls-in-action or email Jamie@bikesnotbombs.org

The 18th Annual Plant Sale: May 5th 10 – 2

Spring IS coming and the Curley’s Annual Plant + Bake Sale proves it. Each May we transform the parking lot across from the school into a pop up nursery where the community buys top quality annuals, herbs and vegetables.
It is fun and a treasured community event. Last year we sold out!!

There will be a sign up for the event but help in advance is greatly appreciated.
No experience necessary.
There are no meetings, only tasks (phone calls, copying, flyer distribution). Even 1 hour helps. It is a fun way to get involved without a huge commitment.

If you can help PLEASE email Kristin Jurkoic (4th Grade parent) kjurkoic@yahoo.com or call 617.548.1461

Thank You: Thank you to all the Curley Staff and Families that helped to make The Jungle Book performance a success. From supporting practice, encouraging students, decorating sets and costumes to volunteering time we could not have done without you all. Thank you!

Shout out:
A special shout out to the 45 students in grades 6-8 who participated in the Regional Destination Imagination Competition in Natick yesterday. Three of our 6 teams came in 2nd place and two of our 7th graders were recognized amongst ALL the middle school participants with the Spirit of Destination Imagination Award for their efforts in the competition. We were the only urban school to participate and our students shined as they modeled collaboration, creativity, determination and problem solving skills. Congrats! Thanks to the families that accompanied us on Saturday and to Ms. Beaudrault, Ms. Lieberman and Ms. Peters for leading and empowering our students.
